13: Jeanne Runkel

Manager, UPS Store

Jeanne presently oversees associates and manages the processes in the UPS store. Initially, at the beginning of the pandemic, she lost her job. She then was hired by UPS as a manager. Due to her own health issues, she is especially careful in her work.

She felt because online shopping exploded during the pandemic, the function of UPS increased greatly. She was touched by the kindness of people and felt that most people were appreciative of any help she gave them. When customers came who felt anxious and irritable, she tried to remember that we all have handled the pressures of the pandemic differently. 

Her attitude is one of “We’re all in this together” and she believes it is personal contact that helps us through difficult times.
