At the time when all businesses were shutting down and this location was about to do the same, there was a change. On the last day of sending all the workers home it was decided that Dana and two others would stay on the job just in case any emergencies came up. After working like this for a month, with no crew on hand, they all were eventually brought back. From that point on they cared for the needs of all their clients and their vehicles. Keeping them on the road.

Dana is fine with working through being sick, toughing it out, etc. But now his concern was that he had a pregnant wife at home with their first child. She is a teacher and was now teaching virtually from the house. It was safer for her there. But would he bring the virus home? Family and friends were also very concerned for them.

During this time, he says, “It was a real eye opener, a test of relationships.” He realized that spending more time at home, just he and his wife, was enough. He didn’t feel the need to “go out.” Times spent on the back deck talking were very rewarding and “Yes, I am 100%” ok with being home. This is a keepsake he hopes to take away from these times.

As for the future, he wants to see everyone get along, not be so divided. Work things out together. It takes more than one individual to make things work. It takes us all.

Dana’s wife never did get the virus. She delivered a healthy baby boy, to two very nervous but excited parents.
