51: Donna Wagner

Grocery Clerk, WEIS Market

Donna Wagner manages the health and beauty department in Weis markets. She worked through the entire pandemic. There were many changes in the grocery store to protect both customers and employees. Plexiglass was added where it was needed for barriers,  PPE was used by all employees, and hand sanitizer was used liberally by staff. 

One of her greatest challenges during the pandemic was having to stay away from her daughter who was expecting her first child. 

Donna felt the majority of customers were appreciative of her work. She also noted when people panicked, they resorted to hoarding paper supplies and toiletries. 

Once people calmed, most people were cooperative. Her greatest hope is that we never have to go through anything like this pandemic again.
